Frequently Asked Questions

Which games work with the Digby amiibo?

Digby is primarily used in Animal Crossing titles. On Nintendo Switch, it works with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. On Wii U, it works with Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival and Animal Crossing: New Leaf (when played on a Wii U via backward compatibility). It may also be compatible with other games that support Animal Crossing amiibo figures, such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for summoning a figurine or Mario Kart 8 for unlocking a costume.

How do I use Digby in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

In New Horizons, you can invite Digby to the Photopia in the game's Happy Home Paradise DLC by scanning the amiibo at the airport. He will appear as a visitor you can photograph. You cannot invite him to live on your island, but he can be used to order special furniture from the Nook Shopping catalog. Digby does not become a resident; he is a Photopia visitor only.

Can I use Digby on Nintendo Switch without the Wii U?

Yes. The Digby amiibo works natively with the Nintendo Switch via the Joy-Con or Pro Controller's NFC touchpoint. No Wii U hardware is needed for Switch compatibility. A single figure covers both platforms, so you don't need a separate Digby for each console.

What does loose condition mean for the Digby amiibo?

Loose means the amiibo figure is sold without its original plastic clamshell or cardboard packaging. The figure itself is the same as a new-in-box version. It may show minor handling marks, but it is fully functional and ready to scan. Loose is a cost-effective choice if you plan to use the figure rather than keep it sealed.
