Tamagotchi - 任天堂 Game Boy

The little pixel pet follows you everywhere on the Game Boy screen, and I forgot how addictive feeding and cleaning up after it gets. It’s the perfect way to kill time on a commute without draining your phone’s battery.

Booting this up on the original handheld feels like stepping right back into the 90s, and the virtual pet actually responds to your button presses just like the real keychain version. It’s a solid way to kill an afternoon without needing to worry about batteries dying on a separate device.

The little pixels are just as charming as I remember, and having it all on the Game Boy screen means I can actually pause it without losing progress. It’s the perfect way to unwind for ten minutes at a time.
