I’ve been looking for a logic puzzle that’s truly challenging, and Nurikabe’s island-and-wall rule set is perfect—it starts simple but gets surprisingly tricky. The Japanese text hasn’t been an issue since the puzzles are all about the grid.

The touch controls for drawing walls are surprisingly responsive, which makes solving these logic puzzles much smoother than on paper. I’ve already burned through a dozen grids on my commute, and it’s the perfect pick for a quick brain workout.

I finally found a physical copy of this Japanese DS puzzle game, and the stylus input is so precise for filling in the black cells—it makes Nurikabe much more relaxing than doing it on paper. The progression through the puzzles feels perfectly balanced for a train commute session.
