NBA Live 2003 - Nintendo GameCube

The player animations feel incredibly smooth this year, especially the crossovers and dunks during fast breaks. I've been playing for hours and the controls just click once you get the hang of them.

The franchise mode is deep enough to keep me building a championship team for hours. Plays smooth on the GameCube and the dunks look fantastic.

Playing as Allen Iverson in the Freestyle mode feels incredibly smooth on the GameCube controller — the quick crossover dribbles are a blast. The graphics hold up surprisingly well for a 2003 title, especially the player faces. It’s a solid retro basketball fix.
