Pokemon Silver - Nintendo Game Boy Color

This was my first time playing a Pokemon game on an actual Game Boy Color, and the battery in the cartridge still saves my progress perfectly. The RPG mechanics are as deep as I hoped, and I finally understand why the Silver version is so beloved.

The Gen 2 day/night cycle still feels so innovative, and being able to return to Kanto after the Elite Four adds so much replay value. My cartridge arrived clean with a working save battery, so I can finally relive that post-game content.

Still have my original cartridge from 2001 and it works flawlessly, so this was a gift for my nephew—the game saves perfectly and the battery holds up. The condition options let me grab a pristine copy with the box, and he's already hooked on Johto.
