I was pleasantly surprised that the fan translation preserved all the classic dungeon-crawling mechanics perfectly. The three games in one cart are a steal for the price.

Finally, a collection that lets you dive straight into the classic dungeon-crawling I loved on the DS, and the quick-save feature on the Switch is a lifesaver for short sessions. The map-drawing mechanics feel just right with the touchscreen, making each floor a personal adventure.

The difficulty curve is punishingly old-school, but mastering each floor’s layout felt incredibly rewarding. I’ve sunk over 40 hours into just the first game, sketching my own maps on graph paper alongside the auto-map feature.
