Splatterhouse - Microsoft Xbox 360

The gore effects are over-the-top in the best way, and the classic beat-em-up gameplay brings back solid memories. I’ve been playing through the campaign and the weapon variety keeps each fight fresh.

The combat feels satisfyingly brutal, and I love how the environmental execution moves reward you for aggression. The included extras were in surprisingly good shape for a used copy. Haven't put it down since it arrived.

Wasn't sure what to expect from a horror beat-'em-up, but the classic action pacing keeps things moving and the Very Good condition disc played flawlessly from the first load. For a gory throwback, it's surprisingly fun to just switch your brain off and smash through.
