Sonic Mania - Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4)

Picked this up for a weekend throwback session and ended up playing through the whole campaign in one sitting—the levels are packed with hidden routes that make every replay feel fresh. The soundtrack alone is worth the price of admission.

Been a long time since a game made me feel like a kid again, and this one nails the classic arcade-style platforming perfectly. The PS4 version runs buttery smooth even when the action gets chaotic, and the nostalgic zones are packed with clever little secrets that reward exploring every corner.

I was a bit worried it wouldn't live up to the Genesis days, but the classic arcade platforming action is spot-on. The levels are incredibly creative and the soundtrack is an absolute banger. It's pure, unadulterated fun for any Sonic fan.
