The battery-saving suspend feature is a lifesaver on long commutes, and the action-adventure gameplay holds up surprisingly well on the original hardware. Even with the Japanese text, the platforming and boss fights are intuitive enough that I didn’t need a guide.

The Japanese cartridge art alone makes this worth grabbing, and it plays flawlessly on my original Game Boy. Save states work cleanly too, so I can jump back into the Ghoul Realm whenever I want.

The cartridge loads instantly and the sprite art is crisp even on the original screen, exactly what I wanted for my collection. The action-adventure mix with the flying sections is pure nostalgia, and the Japanese text adds to the authenticity without ruining the gameplay.
