Puss In Boots - Nintendo DS

The sword-fighting controls on the touch screen actually feel responsive, which surprised me for a DS game. My kid loves the mini-games that unlock as you progress through the story.

My eight-year-old has been obsessed since we got this; the voice acting for Puss is surprisingly good for a DS game. We've been playing through the levels together, and the adventure mode on the handheld is perfect for car trips.

The touch-screen controls make swinging that little sword feel surprisingly smooth, and the levels are just the right length for picking up during a commute. I’ve replayed a few stages just to chase the collectibles, and it’s still fun on the DS screen.
