NHL 96 - Nintendo Game Boy

Even on a small Game Boy screen, the player animations are impressively smooth for a portable sports game. The cartridge arrived clean and booted up instantly with no issues. A perfect pick-up for some quick hockey action on the go.

The on-screen action is surprisingly fluid for a Game Boy title—the puck control actually feels responsive. This little cartridge brings the full rink to my pocket, perfect for quick games during my commute.

Bought this as a birthday gift for a buddy who’s a huge hockey fan, and the cartridge was in really solid shape — no scratches, loads right up every time. The fast-paced gameplay actually translates surprisingly well to the small screen, even if the players are tiny blobs.
