NHL 2004 (Joe Sakic) - Nintendo GameCube

I was skeptical about a hockey game from 2004, but the physics on the puck handling really surprised me. The career mode kept me coming back for hours. Definitely worth grabbing for some classic arcade-style action.

The slap shot control in this game actually feels responsive and precise, which makes setting up one-timers a blast. My buddies and I have been reliving old hockey rivalries for hours.

Bought this for my nephew who's just getting into hockey, and the Joe Sakic cover alone got him hyped before we even put it in the GameCube. The gameplay feels surprisingly realistic for a sports game from this era, and we've been playing every night since.
