Mystic Defender - Sega Genesis

The sprite art in the later levels is seriously impressive for a Genesis game, and the magic upgrades actually change how you play. Played through it in one sitting, the challenge felt fair but kept me on my toes.

Bought this for a weekend retro session and the cartridge booted up perfectly on my old Genesis. The action-adventure mix keeps the pacing snappy, and the magic spells feel way more fluid than I remembered from back in the day.

This classic Genesis title still holds up with its crisp sprite animations and challenging level design, the magic spell upgrade system adds great replay value. Picked it up for a fair price and was happy to see the label is clean and the game boots right up.
